Sorry I haven't written....went out of town for 5 days and have been recovering since I got back. To sum up the weekend in one word:
FABU . :O)
Drove to Anaheim last Thursday and spent the night at our friend Big Todd's house (for those people who know both Todd's, I feel like I must differentiate...because all y'all know that I would not take my impressionable young son to meet Little Todd). Anyways, spent the night there and woke up bright and early to hit Winchell's donuts and then go to Disneyland. Being as this was only my 2nd time at Disney (cuz everyone knows I'd rather be at Magic Mountain), and it was Nevin's first time, it was pretty fun. Got the cutest little disney italian charm for my bracelet....this CZ Mickey. :O) Then, we went to Downtown Disney for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe....and then took the Monorail (Nevin still hasn't stopped talking about it) back to Disney in time for the fireworks and a few more rides before they closed. Lots of fun....and Nevin made it to the potty all day.
That night, we stayed at the hotel on March ARB where Jeff's family reunion was on Saturday (Dad's side of the family). I have to say that I got along with these people pretty well....although some of them partied a bit harder than I expected. Either way, we had a good time and Jeff had a fabu time with his little cousins (and his 7 year old Uncle). Everyone tried to make me feel like a real part of the family....and considering that Jeff and I have been together for 4 years and have a son, this was definitely a good thing. :O)
Next morning, we were going to go to the beach but we were all the way out in Moreno Valley so we decided to hop on the 91 and go to Newport. Bad bad bad idea. We were stuck in traffic on various freeways for 3 hours and never made it past Yorba Linda (kind of reminded me of some of the things that I don't miss about LA)....so we threw in the towel and went to visit Jeff's mother. Went well....but how bad could things go during a 30 minute visit?? Anyways, we left there and went to a barbecue for his great aunt's birthday and then we left and met up with Andrea and Michelle in Burbank. From there we went to Universal Citiwalk (my favoritist place to hang out and spend money) and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe (Nevin now has his first Hard Rock T-shirt....yay!). Then, we wandered around until everything closed and left. That night, we crashed out at Jeff's sister's house in Santa Monica.....so that we could hit Venice when we woke up. So awesome!! Only thing that was sad was that Harry Perry wasn't out yet and the Sand Sculptor (the one who makes the mermaids with the big tits) was missing. I'm assuming that he is in jail...since, when I lived in Venice, I witnessed him being arrested 6 times. Oh well. Anyways, it was good. Nevin had Charly Temmel's ice cream and Jeff & I had Yumi's Teriyaki and all was right with the universe.
Then, around 1, we left to go home. We stopped off in gustine for gas and to let nevin climb around in the gigantic playland that they had inside Del Taco at this truck stop. Then, once he was all worn out, we went home. It was good...but I'm still tired. Didn't really have much by way of energy all week....till Friday. We got up, I took Nevin to school and went shopping at Old Navy...then came home and got Jeff so we could go see the Matrix reloaded (not that good, by the way) and then we went miniature golfing. Later, we met up with my friend Tiffany and her daughter, went shopping some more (at copeland's this time...cuz we get that big fat discount) and then went for Chinese before Jeff and I went to pick up Nevin. It was good.
things are definitely looking up.
By the way, as far as jobs go, there are two sitting on the horizon. One with the DA's office and one with Far Northern Regional Center (yes, both are still government funded....but, hey, at least I'll be in a different department and things will be some semblance of normal again).
thanks for the positive vibrations. :OP
